A breathing space or exclusion zone must be maintained. This space must not be used for any graphic or typographic elements that are not part of the logotype. It is equal to the width of the line used to draw the symbol.
Whether there is an image or a plain color background, the dark and light balance needs to be achieved. (eg.: Never use the black version of the logo on a dark grey background). The corporate colors are to be respected and should never be altered. The logo should never be placed on a complex image background to ensure good legibility.
