The second edition of the Hybrid Regional Workshop on Parliamentary Work

The second edition of the Hybrid Regional Workshop on Parliamentary Work which is a testament to PCAsia’s enduring role in supporting the professional development of parliamentary staff across the region, grounded in over a decade of learning and collaboration was officially opened on 17 December 2025 at the National Assembly of Cambodia​​ under the presidency of H.E. LENG Penglong Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The workshop brought together parliamentary officials from AIPA Member Parliaments, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, as well as a staff from the King Prajadhipok’s Institute. It is co-organized with the French Senate and the French National Assembly, with the support of the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF), and in collaboration with the National Assembly and the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During session 1 on Day 1

Over two days, through active engagement and the exchange of parliamentary experiences and practices among participants in sharing related to legistive function, legislative analysis support, oversight function among participants from AIPA Member Parliaments, and with valuable contributions from resource persons from the French Senate, French National Assembly, Parliament of India, and the AIPA Secretariat, both online and on-site, partcipants have shared their positive feedback about the workshop. They appreciate the exchange of experiecnes and practical learning. For future improvement, they suggested to allocate more time for discussion and to enhance interactive elements.

The regional workshop was successfully concluded in the afternoon of 18 December 2025 under the presidency of H.E. Mr LAY Samkol, Secretary General of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
